70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc
The use of French oak during the maturation gives spices aromas and a rich substance in the mouth.
The Merlot-Cabernet blend gives a balanced and aromatic Bordeaux Supérieur, which is a great partner to a broad range of dishes.
Ownership & history:
This estate has been family-owned for three generations and they now marry tradition with forward-thinking. Tradition is to be found in the classical style of the wines and it is with the future in mind that current owner Thierry Diez has decided to farm the vineyard sustainably.
Vineyard & location:
Château Langragnat covers 53 hectares and is in the village of Saint Antoine du Queyret, on the eastern outskirts of the Bordeaux winemaking region. The landscape here is hilly and the soil consists of clayey limestone.
Harvest, vinification & ageing:
A lot of work is done in the vineyard to ensure the best possible quality of grapes to be harvested (pruning for tight buds/reduced yield, leaf removal and green harvest are all carried out).
The grapes are then picked by machine prior to sorting by hand at the winery. Vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks and then the wine is matured in French oak barrels. The Limited Edition is an unique selection of the best parcels of the vineyard, producing high quality wine in limited quantity. Each bottle features an unique serial number.
